These roads seem plain, yet mysterious,
tarred ancient tongues of different tides.

Like a quiver without a bolt, a thunder without sound,
these hereabouts lack everything that made their people proud, oh proud.

I stand here – despite my claims – to never return again. Can hardly speak and barely walk, in ruins where devils reign.

Starless, weary and sullen skies,
take this grievous burden off my eyes.

Charred walls and dried-up wells, grey homes like quiet tombs. Sense of grief in twilight years, the withering's perfume.

Still I roam through silent halls, despite emotive drain, nothing left of what once was, but the memories remain.
